   ACTIVITES TO DO IN HONNAVAR

For all the adrenaline junkies out there are cool adventure events in Honnavar like hiking in the forests, camping in mountains, hanging by the cliffs and a lot more. An adrenaline rush is sure to have when one is out there on adventure. Whether it’s swimming, river rafting, rappelling , riding with motorcycle club or cycling with friends or just a weekend getaway near Honnavar, we have got you covered.

SCUBA DIVING

Was scuba diving always on your mind? Is that trip to Andamans not getting planned in spite of your best efforts? There’s a closer alternative to that, just off the coast of Karnataka and chances are you’ve not heard about this well kept secret till now!

Netrani Island or Pigeon Island is 20kms away from Murudeshwar in Karnataka. This island is a haven for scuba diving because of the crystal clear waters and the rich marine life. The island is heart shaped when seen from above and is also suitable for day trips from Murudeshwar.

BACK WATER BOATING

The boat ride is around 50 mins through the mangroves. We just have to sit in and enjoy the view! We were 6 people and it cost 200 pp with a total of 1200 for 6 people. To reach here you can get an auto from Honnavar Bus Stand or Saravati circle which will drop you here at an amount of 70-80 rs per auto.

JUNGLE TREKKING

We will be hiking deep into the jungles of Honnavar to spot some animals and understand about the flora and fauna, don't worry, we will be assisted by a forest guard. This shall be followed by camping and bonfire.

On the second day I have plans to take you on a hike to a hidden island nearby and a dam where we will be spending some time with the nature. I have also picked up some local cuisine that we will be trying over lunch.

MANGROVE BOARD WALK

The Sharavathi Kandla Mangrove Boardwalk is a scenic trail in the Honnavar region of Karnataka, India. It allows visitors to explore the lush mangrove forests and witness the diverse flora and fauna of the area.

Sharavathi Kandla Mangrove boardwalk is approx. 3 km from Honnavar city, right opposite to the eco beach. While driving from Honnavar to Bhatkal, Eco Beach is on the right side and for the Mangroves you have to take left turn. 

 ARECA BOARD WALK

You can walk around wast 6 acres of areca plantation and explore the flaura/fauna. Off-course you can take a lot of pictures! Areca Farm walk is family and kids friendly. Visitors usually spend around 30 minutes to walk around.

Areca Farms are unique to the region and if you are travelling around Honavar you should definitely spend couple of hours at our Areca Farm. Discover the natural beauty of Areca Farms and take a lot of photos. An English-speaking tour guide will be present to welcome you and tell about various other plants in the farm.
